Wolframite (ferrous lung state) Tin stone contains  FeWO4 a magnetic impurity that is separated using a magnetic separation technique. The tin stone contains wolframite ore  (FeWO4) as impurities and has the same mass per unit as tin stone. Tin stone is not magnetic by nature, Wolframite is drawn to a magnet and falls close below it, whereas tin stone falls away from it. They are separated by a magnetic field.
