Fig. 2 shows a concave mirror. The concave mirror can produce both diminished as well as enlarged images.
A concave mirror has a reflecting surface that is curved inwards. The properties of the image formed depend on the position of the object on the principal axis. When the object is kept closer to the mirror, a virtual and magnified image is formed, whereas when the object is further away from the mirror, it produces a real and diminished image.
