Detailed Solution

Washing soda has a chemical name sodium carbonate (Na2CO3). It is prepared mainly by using calcium carbonate. Thus the raw reactant 'P' is calcium carbonate (CaCO3)

On heating Calcium carbonate decompose into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide. Thus 'Q' is calcium oxide.

CaCO3CaO+CO2
CaO reacts with water to give calcium hydroxide. So, 'R' is Ca(OH)2.

CaOH2OCa(OH)2
Calcium hydroxide reacts with ammonium chloride to produce 'S' as ammonia, a gas soluble in water.
Ca(OH)2+NH4ClNH3+CaCl2+H2O

This ammonia on treating with carbon dioxide gives 'T' as ammonium bicarbonate. On further reaction with NaCl, sodium bicarbonate is produced. On heating sodium carbonate is yielded as product.

NH3CO2NH4HCO3NaClNaHCO3Na2CO3

Therefore the correct order of species is;

  P-CaCO3,Q-Cao,R-Ca(OH)2,   S-NH3,T-NH4OH,U-NH4CO3,V-NaHCO3

Hence, the correct option is (D).
