Given:

Length of the wire = 44 cm

When the wire is bent into the shape of a circle,

Let the radius be r cm.

So, the circumference of the circle = length of the wire

2πr = 44

πr = 442

r = 22π

r = 22×722

r = 7

So, radius = 7 cm

Now,

We know that the area of the circle = πr2

                                  = 227×7×7  = 154 cm2

So, the area of the circle is 154 cm2.

Now,

When the wire is bent into the shape of a square

Therefore, the perimeter of the square = length of the wire

4×Side = 44

Side = 444

Side = 11 cm

Now, the area of square = Side2

                                            = (11)2 121 cm2

Hence, the circle encloses more area by (154 - 121) cm233 cm2.
