Detailed Solution

It is given that T=1-x2+2y2, where x+y=1

Replacing y=1-x in T we get,

T=1-x2+2(1-x)2  T=1-x2+2(1+x2-2x)

T=x2-4x+3 T=(x-2)2-1

As we know x-220

x-22-1-1

But the maximum value does not exist

Tmax=Does not exist and Tmin=-1

Hence option-1 is the correct answer.
