Detailed Solution

Surat was one of the Dirtiest cities in India.
In 1994, the city of Surat had a plague scare. Surat was declared one of the dirtiest cities in India. The garbage from houses, hotels, and restaurants is dumped into the nearest drain or street, which makes it difficult for sweepers to clean the trash. The Municipal Corporation did not collect garbage timely, which led to a large amount of garbage dumping. The situation worsened, a plague spread through the air, and people with diseases were isolated. Many people lost their lives, and many left the city. Later, the Municipal Corporation cleaned up the city thoroughly, and now it remains one of the cleanest cities in India.
