Detailed Solution

Surontiko Samin of Java was from Randublatung village. He represented a group in Java that questioned the state ownership of forests. Around 1890, Samin argued that the state had not created natural resources or wind, water, earth, and wood, so it had no right to own it. With Samin’s ideas, he managed to attract his fellow people who agreed with his views, and thus, a movement began. They came to be called Saminists, who protested by lying down on their lands when the Dutch came to conduct surveys.
