Detailed Solution

The Thar desert lies to the west of the Aravalli range. The 200,000 km2 (77,000 sq mi) of the Thar Desert, commonly referred to as the Great Indian Desert, is a sizable arid region northwest of the Indian subcontinent that serves as a natural border between Pakistan and India. The Indian subcontinent's Northern-Western area is home to the mountain range known as the Aravalli Range. The Thar Desert is situated in the Aravalli range in the northwest area. Because the Aravallis mountains run parallel to the area, the Thar Desert in India developed due to establishing a rain-shadow zone. As a result of the lack of mountain barriers, the moisture-holding winds leave the area.
