Detailed Solution

The Chauri-Chaura incident resulted in the discontinuation of the Non-Cooperation movement. On February 4, 1922, a group of angry peasants in British India's Chauri Chaura region of the United Provinces (modern-day Uttar Pradesh) set fire to a police station. The Chauri Chaura incident refers to this incident. On that day, about 22 police officers were killed by peasants. They were triggered by the police's use of force against the nonviolent farmer's protest. Police officers who tried to flee were apprehended and brutally killed. In addition, weapons and other police equipment suffered significant damage. Mahatma Gandhi eventually ended the Non-Cooperation Movement because of his opposition to violent activities. As a result, the movement was abandoned due to the Chauri Chaura incident.
