The Aihole inscription was composed by Ravikirti. The Meguti Jain temple at Aihole, Karnataka, India, contains a nineteen-line Sanskrit inscription known as the Aihole Inscription or Aihole Prashasti. A eulogy written in honour of the Chalukya dynasty's king, Pulakeshin II, by the Jain poet Ravikirti, the inscription is dated between 634-635 CE. Ravikirti compares his patron, king Pulakesin II, to Gods and mentions the latter's achievements in golden letters. The inscription mentions the defeat of king Harshavardhana by Pulakeshin II on the banks of river Narmada.
