The Relic Casket is a small box placed in the centre of the stupa.
A little box in the focal point of the stupa contains the relics (teeth, bones, cinders, and so forth) of the Buddha or his devotees. This chest can hold things like jewels and coins. This little box referenced above is known as a Relic Casket. A stupa is an earthen entombment hill covered with stones. In Buddhism, the stupas came to be related to the body of the Buddha, as the earliest stupas contained the remains of the Buddha. Adding Buddha's remains to the hill enacted it with the energy of the Buddha himself.
