The Munro is also known as the Ryotwari system.
The method of ryotwari was another name for the Munro system. The Munro system declared the farmer to be the land's legal owner. The corporation made an honest income settlement with the peasants, meaning the taxes were rightfully taken from the farmers. It was first attempted and expanded by Thomas Munro before Captain Alexander read it on a modest scale. According to Munro, the British should act as protective father figures, keeping the rioting under check.
The Munro Method was developed by Thomas Munro and was first used in 1820. The skipper, Alexandra Read, tried it on a modest scale. The system was later established by Thomas Munro, the governor of Madras, and eventually spread over all of India.
Problems with the new Munro revenue-fixing system were:
1)      Under the present Munro system of fixing revenue, the tax authorities sought an excessive amount of revenue.
2)      The peasants were unable to meet this need. As a result, peasants left their villages, and many regions saw the abandonment of those same settlements.
3)      Unlike the Permanent Scheme, the prices could be raised, and they were expensive.
