Detailed Solution

Martial Law was imposed in Amritsar.
Mahatma Gandhi was prevented from entering Delhi while regional leaders were picked up in Amritsar. Martial Law was enacted after the police in Amritsar opened fire on a peaceful procession on April 10, sparking widespread attacks on banks, post offices, and train stations. A martial law enacted by General Dyer on April 13, 1919, prohibited gatherings of more than two people anywhere. This Law was passed to stop organised protests against the current government. This was around the time of the Sikh holiday of Baisakhi when people had gathered to celebrate at the Jallianwala Bagh, and General Dyer opened fire on them.
