Detailed Solution

Greece was officially recognised as an autonomous country by the Treaty of Constantinople in 1832.
The Greek War of Independence was one of the events that instilled nationalist feelings among Europe's educated elite. Greece has been a part of the Ottoman Empire since the fifteenth century. Greeks began fighting for independence in 1821. They received assistance in this endeavour from Greeks living throughout the continent. Poets and artists rallied public opinion in support of its fight against the Muslim Empire. The English poet Lord Byron raised funds for the war, enlisted in the military, and later passed away from fever in 1824. Greece was recognized as an independent nation by the Treaty of Constantinople in 1832.
