Detailed Solution

The Rowlatt Act of 1919 gave the power to the British government to arrest anyone without a warrant.
Indians opposed the 1919 Government of India Act. The Rowlatt Act was passed by the British to maintain power. The Rowlatt Act made it legal to detain anyone without getting a warrant. Anyone could be charged and brought against someone without their right to an adequate legal defence or trial. The Act curbed fundamental rights such as freedom of expression and strengthened police powers. Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Mahatma Gandhi, and others believed that the government had no jurisdiction to impose restrictions on people's fundamental liberties.
