Detailed Solution

The Jammu and Kashmiri Gujjar Bakarwals are excellent goats and sheep herders. Many came here in the nineteenth century to search for pastures for their animals. Over the years, they gradually established themselves as a permanent presence in the area and moved yearly between their summer and winter grazing pastures. They resided with their herds on the Shiwalik range's low hills during the winter, when the high mountains were covered in snow. They began their northern march at the end of April, searching for their summer grazing grounds.
