The Dhangars of Maharashtra are a pastoralist community of the Central Plateau. The majority of Dhangras were shepherds. Some of them raised buffaloes, while others worked as blanket weavers, which were later sold in the local markets. Throughout the monsoon, the Dhangars remain on the central Maharashtra plateau. Every year, by October, the Dhangars would have completed harvesting their bajra and had traveled west.
