It was launched on the 1st of April 1995. It is also for rural people, as the name includes the rural. The government has generated more than 200 million jobs for the youth and rural people. Many things are done for the employment generation under this scheme. 25 lakh jobs were created under a five-year plan. Opportunities were created in villages and towns, and self-employment opportunities were created.
