The silk routes served as trade and cultural links between different parts of the world.
It started even before the Christian era and worked until the 15th century. This route is called the silk route because the silk of China was so famous and so much in demand that this route was used majorly for the exportation and importation of cargoes of Chinese silk. These Indian spices traded textiles in different parts of the world.
