Detailed Solution

The British sent troops to suppress the rebellion.
During the 1820s, expeditions were sent off the coast of India to investigate its backwood resources. In less than ten years, India has sent massive amounts of wood that had been cleared on a gigantic scale abroad. The expansion of railways in the 1850s sparked new interest. Rail links were critical for provincial interchange and the growth of royal troops. Wood was essential for train fuel, and sleepers were supposed to keep railroad tracks intact when they were laid. Between 1,760 and 2,000 sleepers were required per mile of the train track. The rail route network expanded rapidly beginning in the 1860s. By 1890, around 25,500 km of track had been built. The length of the ways had increased to more than 1.3 miles by 1946. As rail line tracks stretched across India, more trees were felled.
