Detailed Solution

The Nagaram was an organization or assembly of merchants.
One of the most enduring dynasties in history was the Chola, a Tamil thalassocracy that ruled throughout southern India. Inscriptions left by Ashoka of the Maurya Empire in the third century BCE include the earliest datable mentions of the Chola. A company called Nagarattar was the conduit through which merchants ran their enterprises. In the eighth and ninth centuries, merchants did business in the commercial town of Nagaram in the medieval Tamil nation. The Nadus used the Nagaram mostly as a market. In this town, traders and merchants created their own associations and organizations.
