Detailed Solution

The Banjaras were the most crucial trade nomads. The name for their caravan was tanda. Sultan Alauddin Khalji transported grain to urban markets using the Banjaras. According to Emperor Jahangir's memoirs, the Banjaras used their bullocks to transport grain from various locations and sell it in towns. In addition, they transported food and grain for the Mughal army during military battles. There could be a sizable army and 100,000 bullocks hauling grain. Peter Mundy, an English trader who arrived in India at the beginning of the seventeenth century, defined the Banjaras as the people who travelled far for trade. He once spoke of a travelling Banjara tanda that contained 14,000 oxen.
