Detailed Solution

The Kaokoland herders in Namibia, in southwest Africa, traditionally sold skin, meat, and other trade products in neighbouring markets. Africa is home to around 50 percent of the world's pastoral population. Traditionally they moved between Namibia's Kaokoland and Ovamboland to feed their cattle. They sold skin, meat, and other products in nearby markets. They started facing problems after Germany colonised their territories. A new system of territorial boundaries was introduced that restricted their movements, halting their livelihood. Shifting to another place was important to prevent the overuse of pastures in a particular area and helped escape drought.
