Detailed Solution

The separation of Powers is a key feature of the Indian Constitution. The Indian political system has three organs: the executive, the legislature, and the judiciary. There is a horizontal division of power among the three organs. In the case of the judiciary, separation of powers implies that the other two organs do not interfere in the working of the bench. The judiciary in India is independent of the government (Executive and legislative). The judges of the courts are also appointed with minor interference from the government. This enables the judiciary to check the government's misuse of power and protect the citizens' rights.
