Detailed Solution

The Electoral Roll is commonly known as the Voters’ List.
The list released by the Election Commission just before the elections in which the names of all the eligible voters are mentioned is officially called the Electoral Roll, but in common it is known as the Voters’ List. In the voters’ list, all the names of eligible voters are given so they can cast their vote at the polling booth on the day of the election. So, the Electoral Roll or Voters’ List ensures who can vote and who cannot vote. And later, the voters’ list is also helpful in providing Election Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) to the voters so that transparency can be maintained at the polling booth and no other person can cast votes for other people than themselves.
