The electoral roll is commonly known as the Voters’ List.
The list released by the Election Commission just before the elections in which the names of all the eligible voters are mentioned called the Electoral Roll or Voters’ List. In the voters’ list, all the terms of eligible voters are given so they can cast their vote at the polling booth on the day of the election. So, the Electoral Roll or Voters’ List ensures who can and cannot vote. And later, the voters’ list is also helpful in providing Election Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) to the voters so that transparency can be maintained at the polling booth and no other person can cast votes for other people than themselves.
