In the healthy functioning of democracy, the Panchayati Raj system plays a vital role. It helps democracy to achieve decision-making and policy-making at the grassroots level. There are Three Levels of Panchayatsssi Raj Institutions in India, followed by many states. Gram Panchayat, Panchayat Samiti, and Zila Parishad. At the village level, all people who attain the age of 18 years are eligible to vote in the elections of panch and sarpanch. They also participate in a meeting of the gram sabha, headed by the village's sarpanch. At this meeting, they have a right to ask queries or questions and put forward suggestions for the development of the town.
