Detailed Solution

The Kalamkari print was created by weavers of Andhra Pradesh in India. A floral cotton print was designed and produced by William Morris, a famous nineteenth-century British poet and artist. Both prints have one thing in common: they used a deep blue colour known as indigo. The blue in those prints was obtained from an indigo plant. During that time, India was the world's largest supplier of indigo. Although it was expensive, it was used in different prints, for example, the kalamkari print.
