The Mahua tree in India was used to get the villagers' oil for cooking and lighting lamps. It is a tropical Indian tree mostly found in Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and India's central, southern, and northern plains and forests. It is grown for its oily seeds, flowers, and wood in warm, humid climates. The fat is used as vegetable butter, to make soap or detergents, and to care for the skin. Additionally, it functions as fuel. After the oil has been extracted, seed cakes are produced, making excellent fertiliser.
