The Duma was an elected consultative Parliament created by Tsar Nicholas II. The tenure of this Parliament stretched from 1906 until 1917. The creation of the Duma was intended to usher in democracy. Despite the existence of Parliament, the Tsar made decisions without consulting it. Despite this, the Tsar retained his authoritarian rule. The Russian people were dissatisfied with the mere creation of Parliament. They want their democratic rights. The Tsar influenced the Duma through his representatives, who the people did not choose. The First World War broke out, and the Tsar did not consult the Parliament before entering it. All of these factors contributed to the Bolsheviks' decision to eliminate the Duma.
