Detailed Solution

The African National Congress (ANC) was the umbrella organization that led the struggle against the policy of segregation in South Africa. It was led by the leader Nelson Mandela. The policy of Apartheid discriminated against the blacks and coloured people and treated them as inferiors. Many countries of the world spoke against racial discrimination and denounced Apartheid as an unjust and cruel policy. The ANC increased its protests and struggles against the racist government, and their struggles and movements paid off when in 1994, the first democratic elections were held in the country, electing Nelson Mandela as the Prime minister.
