Detailed Solution

The Domestic Violence Act came into effect in 2006. It is meant to ensure women the safety, respect and dignity within their household. It stops the physical, mental or emotional torture of women as, after its implementation, strict actions are taken against the people who violate this law. People are expected to treat women in their households with dignity and respect. They should be given their due rights instead of the abuse that they are subjected to. Every person should be treated equally and should be given due importance. Women should not be neglected only based on their gender or just because, according to the patriarchal mindset, they were considered inferior to men.
