Detailed Solution

Given, acceleration due to gravity on plane A is 9 times

acceleration due to gravity on planet B i.e., gA=9 gB            (i)

From third equation of motion

v2=2gh

 At planet A,hA=v22 gA             ..(ii)

 At planet B,hB=v22 gB           .......(iii)

 Dividing Eq. (ii) by Eq. (iii) we have

hAhB=9 gB9 gA

 From Eq. (i), gA=9gB

hAhB=9 gB9 gA=19

 or hB=9 hA=9×2                     hA=2 m

=18 m
