The following methods were used to manage Jatis's business:
  • They established their own rules and guidelines to control their members' behaviour.
  • Enforcing these standards and laws was the responsibility of the "jati panchayat," or committee of elders from the jati.

  • The Jatis formed their own laws and norms to regulate the behaviour of their members. The elders' assembly, also known as the jati panchayat, was responsible for implementing these regulations. But Jatis were also obliged to follow village ordinances.
