Detailed Solution

The age of a person and the number of teeth of a person vary directly or indirectly with each other.
We know that if two quantities x and y vary in the same way while maintaining a constant ratio between their respective values, then the two quantities are said to be in direct proportion.
i.e. x y =k, where k is a constant positive number.
The two variables x and y are said to be inversely proportional if and only if they are directly proportional to one another's reciprocal. If x and y are two variables in inverse variations, then
    x 1 y x=k 1 y x= k y ,        where k is proportianality constant xy=k                                                   ....(1)
A person's teeth and age are two separate things. The relationship between a person's age and their specific tooth count is uncertain. Age and tooth count can differ from person to person. Therefore, age may sometimes vary either directly or inversely with respect to a person's teeth.
Hence, the age of a person and the number of teeth of a person vary directly or indirectly with each other.
