It is given that the ratio of Hari’s and Harry’s age are 5:7.
Let the age of Hari and Harry to be 5x and 7x, respectively.
4 years later age of Hari will be,
=5x+4
And age of Harry will be,
=7x+4
Now the linear equation will be,

⇒ 5 x + 4 7 x + 4 = 34 ⇒ 4 5 x + 4 = 3 7 x + 4 ⇒ 20 x + 16 = 21 x + 12 ⇒ x = 4
