Given that,
Ratio of ages of two persons = 5: 7.
Ratio of their ages eighteen years ago = 8: 13.
Their present ages are,

⇒ 5 x − 18 7 x − 18 = 813

⇒ 13 (5 x − 18) = 8 (7 x − 18)

⇒ 65 x − 234 = 56 x − 144

⇒ 9 x = 90

⇒ x = 10

Then,

⇒ 5 x = 5 × 10 ⇒ 5 x = 50

⇒ 7 x = 7 × 10 ⇒ 7 x = 70

Thus, the other person’s age is 70 years.
Therefore, option 2 is correct.
