The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) was founded on January 1, 1998, by Mamta Banerjee.
In 2016, it was recognized as a national party. Flowers and grass are the symbols of the party. AITC is devoted to security and federalism. West Bengal has been in power since 2011. It also has a presence in Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Tripura. The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), the winner of the legislative elections in 2011, had been an ally in what was then the Congress Party's national ruling coalition government. Mamata Banerjee, the AITC's founder and leader, was elected as the state's first female chief minister.
