Detailed Solution

The anonymous caricature, titled The Club of Thinkers' and dating from around 1820, depicted the issues taken up by liberal-nationalists - here the members of a Club - against the curtailment of the right to freedom under the conservative regimes of 1815. In the caricature, two plaques were seen. One of them on the left sarcastically questioned society's restrictions on free thought. While the other depicted the autocratic regimes' rules of silence to speech. 1815 saw the establishment of conservative autocratic regimes. They actively worked to suppress actions that reflect negatively on the legitimacy of autocratic authorities and did not allow criticism or dissent. The majority of them implemented censorship laws to restrict what was written and spoken in plays, novels, newspapers, and other media that mirrored the French Revolution's principles of liberty and freedom.
