It is given a trapezium with equal non-parallel sides is 168 m

and lengths of the parallel sides are 36m and 20m.
We know,

Area of trapezium = 12 × (s u m of parallel side) × d i s t a n c e between parallel sides

168 = 12 × (36 + 20) × h 6 = h

Let’s draw a diagram,

So, AE is 8 m and DE is 6 m.
Applying Pythagoras theorem in AED we get,

2 = A E 2 + D E 2

AD 2 = 82 + 62 A D 2 = 100 A D = 10

Hence, the length of non-parallel sides is 10 m.
