The area of each square on a chess board is 4 sq.cm. At the beginning of the game when all the chessmen are put on the board, the area of the squares occupied by chess men is 128 sq.cm.
Given that area of each square = 4 sq.cm
To find- The area of the squares that are occupied by the chessmen.
As we know, 32 squares are occupied by the chessmen then,
Area of the squares occupied by chessmen = 32 × area of one square
= 32 × 4 = 128
Therefore, area of the squares occupied by chessmen is 128 sq.cm.
