It is given that AB=5cm, BD=7cm and CD=5cm.
The area of parallelogram ABCD, when AB=5cm, BD=7cm and CD=5cm, will be 35 cm2.

Evaluating the given figure and considering △ABD and △BCD:

a r e a Δ ABD= 12 × b × h

= 12 × A B × B D = 12 × 5 × 7 = 352

Evaluating the

= 12 × B C × D C = 12 × 5 × 7 = 352

So, the area of the two triangles is equal.
The diagonal BD divides ABCD into two triangles having equal area and opposite sides AB = DC.
