The area of parallelogram $ABCD$ is  $45 c{m}^2$. Calculate the height of parallelogram $ABEF$ if $AB=4.5 Cm$.

 

Concept: It is known that if two parallelograms have the same base and lie between the same parallels, their areas are equal.

Here, area of parallelogram $ABCD$  is $45 c{m}^2$and $AB=4.5 cm$. From the figure, we can see that parallelogram $ABCD$  and parallelogram  $ABEF$ are lies between same parallel lines and having same base $AB$.

Then,  $Area of paralle\log ram ABCD=Area of paralle\log ram ABEF$

In parallelogram $ABEF,AB=b=4.5$,  and $FP=h$

Now, area of parallelogram  $ABEF=b\times h$.

$\Rightarrow 40=4.5\times h$

$\Rightarrow h=\frac{45}{4.5}$

$\Rightarrow h=10 cm$

Hence, the height of parallelogram  $ABEF$ is  $10 cm$.
