Detailed Solution

The Ashoka's inscription found in Kandahar dates to about 2250 years ago.
The 2250-year-old inscription was found near Kandahar, which is in contemporary Afghanistan. Ashoka, a king, gave the command for it to be written down. It is one of Ashoka's oldest known decrees and was written around the eighth year of his administration. When we write anything, we always follow a script. Letters or symbols make up scripts. When we talk or read what is written, we employ language. This inscription was written in Greek (top) and Aramaic (bottom), two different writing systems and languages utilised in this area. It was discovered in Kandahar in 1958 during an excavation effort beneath a 1-metre (3.3-foot) layer of trash.
