Detailed Solution

The astronomer Varahamihira was one of the nine gems at the court of Chandragupta II.
During the Gupta era, Varahamihira was a renowned astronomer and mathematician. "Pancha Siddhantika" and "Brihat Samhita" are two important and influential works by Varahmihira. He claimed that the world rotates around the sun and that the moon revolves around the planet. He even looked into how the Greeks perceived the motions of the planets. He also penned some of his most important works on Jyotish and Pancha-Siddhantika, a highly regarded book in astronomy. Before the time of Aryabhatta, it was a key source of astronomy. He also covered physical motions and conjunctions in several other of his writings.
