Detailed Solution

The Banjaras were referred to as the most important trader nomads. Tanda was the name of their caravan. Alauddin Khilji used Banjaras to transport grains to the city market. Emperor Jahangir mentioned in his memoirs that the Banjaras carried grain on their bullocks from different areas and sold it in towns. During military campaigns, they transported food and grain for the Mughal army. There could be 100,000 bullocks carrying grain when there was a large army. An English trader, Peter Mundi, who came to India during the early seventeenth century, has also written about Banjaras.
