Detailed Solution

The base of an isosceles triangle is 4 3   cm. The perimeter of the triangle is 4 2 15   cm. The length of either of the remaining equal sides is Question Imagecm.
Let  ΔABC  as an isosceles triangle, whose base isQuestion Imagecm and other two sides be x cm.
Question ImageWe know that the two sides of an isosceles triangle are equal, so AB=BC=x cm.
Perimeter is given as 4 2 15   cm.
Converting mixed fraction into fraction.
P= 4×15+2 15 = 60+2 15 = 62 15
Perimeter of triangle is given by sum of all sides of triangle.
P=x+x+ 4 3
Substituting the given values in perimeter formula.
62 15 =2x+ 4 3 2x= 62 15 4 3
Taking the LCM,
2x= 4220 15 2x= 42 15 x= 21 15 x= 7 5
Hence, the length of the remaining two sides is Question Imagecm.
