The Battle of Plassey was fought between Siraj-ud-Daula, Nawab of Bengal, and Robert Clive (Britishers) on June 23, 1757. The battle was the fortification and settlement of Britishers in Calcutta and the misuse of a concession granted for free trade in Bengal. Siraj seized the English Factory at Kasimbazar, where Fort William surrendered, but Robert Clive went against the siege of the English Factory. The Battle of Plassey was fought between Siraj-ud-Daula and Robert Clive with their army on June 23, 1757.
