Detailed Solution

The Bhil tribe of Gujarat practised Shifting Cultivation, which is also known as Jhum cultivation. In this type of cultivation, small patches of land were cleared so that sunlight could reach the ground. The vegetation on the land was burnt and ashes were spread, which contain potash to fertilise the soils. Like any other tribal community in India, Bhils also live in close contact with forests and use the resources of it for their survival.
