Detailed Solution

The Bhoodan - Gramdan movement was started by Vinoba Bhave. It was started in 1951 at Pochampally Village in Telangana. It was a land reform movement in which rich landlords or land owners were persuaded to give a small portion of their land to poor, landless farmers. As per records, the number of districts in which people donated their lands was 209, and there were 885 beneficiaries. The Bhoodan movement aimed to get powerful landowners to voluntarily donate a portion of their property to individuals without land. Bhave was philosophically influenced by Gram Swarajya and the Sarvodaya movement of Mahatma Gandhi.
